What's going on in The Thread City Family Garden? Part 2

Our garden apprentices have still been working hard at the garden this season! Here is what they've been up to, in their own words:

  • Cleared up beds for future planting specifically the ones near the herb garden 7/17
  • weeded the outside beds.
  • Treilissed peppers near front of the garden 7/18
  •  Weeded onion beds 7/22
  • Put chicken wire on 2 beds between milk weed and peppers. 7/23
  • Pathways between peppers weeded and mulched 7/23
  • Removal of invasives such as knotweed, bittersweet and thistle 7/24
  • We got rid of invasive species like knotweed and bittersweet thistles 7/24/26
  • Put chicken wire around posts in newly planted rows in the green house housing cucumbers which bunnies have not been taking a liking to 7/28
  • We have weeded around the garden on 8/6/26  
  • We harvested onions 8/5/26
  • We planted cucumbers on 8/1/27
  • Sifted compost 8/6
  • Add cayenne pepper on the beans and cucumbers spicy groundhog no likey lol 8/5/26
  • We mulched the herb garden/square 8/5/26
  • We trellised the tomatoes 8/12
  • We harvested purslane/verdolagas 8/11
  • We harvested tomatillos 8/8/26
  • We planted beets and radish 8/8                                         
  • We weeded the beds near the asparagus 8/11
