Join the Windham Youth CORE for the 2025-2026 academic year!
The Windham Youth Core: Is a group of local high school students who meet regularly to build their leadership skills, and support their personal growth so that they can contribute to their communities in Windham. As a member of the WYC you commit to building yourself up, your community and local food system.
‍Time Commitment: The WYC program meets every Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm. Our two worksite locations are our Thread City Family Garden in Phillip Lauter Park and office at 893 Main street, both in Willimantic, CT. We also host optional programming throughout the week during our drop in hours. Youth are compensated on a participation basis through a monthly stipend.
Who can apply?: Youth who are 14-18 yrs old and live in the Windham area. If you are an older youth and would like to still get involved there are other opportunities available, please reach out if so.

El Windham Youth Core: Es un grupo de estudiantes de preparatoria locales que se reúnen regularmente para desarrollar sus habilidades de liderazgo y apoyar su crecimiento personal para que puedan contribuir a sus comunidades en Windham. Como miembro del WYC, te comprometes a fortalecer tu identidad, tu comunidad y el sistema alimentario local.
Dedicación de horas: El programa WYC se reúne todos los sábados de 9:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m. Nuestros dos lugares de trabajo son nuestro huerto Thread City Family Garden en Phillip Lauter Park y nuestra oficina en 893 Main Street, ambos en Willimantic, CT. También ofrecemos programas opcionales durante la semana. Los jóvenes reciben una compensación mensual según su participación.
