GROW Windham supports local initiatives that promote food security, strengthen the local food system, and build community.
The Windham Community Food Network (WCFN)
strives to create opportunities for the community by building a just, sustainable and inclusive community food system. GROW Windham is a member of the Windham Community Food Network and currently also works as the backbone support for the administrative needs of the network.
The mission of the Windham Community Food Network is to create opportunities for the community by building a just and sustainable food system. The network is made up of a diverse group of participants including community members, local farmers and non profits.
The network has 5 main focus areas which are: Education, Food Access, Outreach and Engagement, Growing Spaces and Economic Opportunities.

Willimantic Farmers’ Market (WFM)
The Willimantic Farmers’ Market is the longest continuously running market in Connecticut which celebrated its 40th anniversary this past year. The market runs on Saturdays from the last weekend of May through the end of October on Jillson Square. The market is one of few in Eastern Connecticut that has SNAP incentive programs which enable SNAP users to receive $10 of fresh produce at the Market for free.
The Willimantic Farmers’ Market is proud to accept SNAP at the market and also runs a SNAP Double Dollar program. GROW Windham supports the SNAP Double Dollar program through community fundraising.
